Malcolm Turns Two (3 Times)

Malcolm has celebrated his 2nd birthday 3 times this year. Back in September my Mom baked him a Blues Clues cake and we had a small family celebration for him. The theme was of course, puppies.Sorry I don't have any pictures of that party, but my camera was on the blink. Last week on his actual birthday (which just so happened to be Clint's and my 10 year anniversary) I baked a simple chocolate cake, and we sang Happy Birthday and had cake and ice cream. So yesterday, we finally had the finale party. It was also a puppy party. We invited a real pooch --Charley the Poodle. Yes, I had a dog in my house for the party. Unbelievably, this dog had better manners than most of the kids there, including the birthday boy and his cohort Alegria who kept sneaking off with chips. The kids loved playing with a real dog. We invited his 2 friends from his Sunday school class --Kiana and Alegria. I made dog tags for them to wear, and the kids looked for bones I had scattered about and played in the cardboard doghouse. I apparently cannot throw a party without somehow incorporating a box into the decor. For the adults there was a match the pooch game with pics of 36 dog breeds and a list to match them with. I made a puppy cake using the blues clues cake pan my Mom used back in September but with brown shades of icing. That thing was finished at 3:30 am Saturday morning. And I made a few goodies with funny K-9 related names like Hot dogs, Puppy Chow, and Lap-it-up Puppy Punch. All the kids really liked the Puppy Jigglers which were blue and red jello jigglers in the shape of bones. Yea! my first successful jigglers. Malcolm had a lot of fun. His favorite present was the 3 level car garage that his daddy picked out. He loves the thing and wants us to play it with him all the time. Malcolm certainly has puppies on the brain and will continue this theme on Halloween. What else could he be, but a cute little puppy dog.
