Guys don't "sleep over" we hang out for the night...

Guest post by Clint

The McPhees and the Taylors had a kidswap last evening. We exchanged Laurel for Ben. See Laurel and Annie's post at Maria's site here. The boys had high expectations and I think I delivered on our first outing:

We went straight to Peter Pipers after leaving the Taylors. After filling their pockets with tokens they wanted to play "House of the Dead II." Against my better judgment I let them play. Just thinking how Maria would cringe on seeing Ben playing a game using a gun made for shooting bloody zombies I just couldn't resist! (writhing hands while laughing)

Skeet ball....

Some Tekken 4 action. Ben was a bear and Ethan was a robot.

Bumper cars

Fast and Furious

After all of that fun, we went to the house and ate some of Sandy's homemade Chicken Spaghetti, and played more games. I believe they played some board games, checked out some of Ethan's new toys. Then imagine this: Played more video games! Afterwards they got ready for bed and set up camp by the fireplace in the den. The evening was ended by watching Star Wars III Revenge of the Sith.

Even after staying up well past midnight they both were up by 7AM ready for a fun-filled morning.

The smell of Cinnamon rolls was in the air. That'll get you up!

By 8:45 we were at Cameron Park playing the front 9 in Disc Golf. Yes, Maria it was 0 degrees Celsius! (that's 32 for you Americans)

I got to play the bad guy at Anniversary Park. They were Jedi's. I never had a chance.

Great post. Great idea. It's a blessing to be able to allow our son to spend the evening, night, and morning outing in the cold with you guys and not worry! I didn't get as many pictures of the girls. I am trying to take less pictures. But will post a few soon.

Great pictures! Wow, it looks like you showed our boys a great time! Thanks for recording it in this blog b/c now Ben will have it forever to look back on. If anything, I'm a little concerned that you've set the bar too high. It looks like the only way I could top this would be to give them a snickers bar for dinner and then take them to the top of Mt. Everest.

Chris, I think giving them a diet of Snickers will get them to at least 29,029 ft. Who needs a trip to Nepal when you are already flying that high!
