First Days

This week was monumental for my oldest son Ethan. On Saturday he played his first soccer game. Though a bit distracted, he had a lot of fun despite the near 100 degree weather. He was honored to have his Pepere, Nanny and Papa, his cousins Josh and Miranda, and Uncle John and Aunt Herlinda come watch. Today was Ethan's first day of kindergarten. He celebrated the day with his good friends Benjamin and Anabeth who were also starting kindergarten today. Siblings Laurel, Jacob, and Annie came to join the festivities too. There was a school bus to play in, songs to sing, and a school supply scavenger hunt that culminated in discovering a lunch box on top of the swing bridge. Ethan had a Spiderman box; so did Benjamin. After eating their lunches, everyone had a piece of school bus cake made by Mary. It was a fabulous first day.

What a fun party! It makes me want to go back to school. Oh, wait...

Those boys look so hot! I can remember some of Halle's games played out in the heat... Eeew. But I'm glad they seemed to have a good time anyway.
